Artifact: History and Philosophy of Education and Sport- Skill Proficiency Test
Date: Fall 2010
Reflection:
History and Philosophy of Physical Education and Sport is an introductory class that included a lab once a week. Here students met with senior physical education majors as mentors, to develop twelve basic psychomotor skills. This artifact demonstrates my ability to meet standard 2 because at the conclusion of the semester, each student was video recorded for a skills test on the twelve skills they had worked on all semester. The skill test was able to show each teacher candidate where they stand at competent or proficient level in the skills. I was a competent level for the major of the skills but through my activity classes in the following semesters, I am positive I improved. This is important to my development as a physical educator because it allows me to acknowledges the skills I need to work on for demonstration, feedback and basic teaching purposes.
